Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus

While people have been buzzing about the recent series of cinema blockbusters (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Star Trek, Angels and Demons) a different kind of hit has been making news on the web. Mega Shark versus Giant Octopus had its trailer debut on MTV.com last week. And with just a few days online, its already been viewed over 250,000 times on YouTube. Meanwhile searches for “sea monsters”,” “mega shark vs giant octopus,” and “deborah gibson” also became top lookup trends in Google.

And yes, you read the poster right. The movie stars Deborah “Debbie” Gibson and Lorenzo Lamas. While most of you might not have heard of these people. They made their own respective marks on showbiz back in the 80s. Gibson had a number of top billboard hits like “Electric Youth”, “Shake Your Love” and “Lost in Your Eyes”. While Lamas starred in the popular TV hit series “Falcon Crest” and various action and suspense movies.

Although probably having no chance of ever being shown on the wide screen, I think people would still be waiting for its direct-to-DVD release. Personally, I don’t think I’ll be catching this film in any form whatsoever. :-)

But the trailer does give me a chance to laugh and at least lighten up my day. I hereby invite everyone to do the same and watch the trailer. Oh, and don’t miss the last part. hehehe

funny! debbie gibson! she knows this movie is a straight to DVD movie, but she did say she had fun making it. at least she has enough sense to know that this is not a award winning movie… unlike some people *paris-cough-cough*

Insert Will Ferrel into this Mega Shark movie and it instantly becomes a “blockbuster comedy hit”
